Have a unique case and want to see if there is a solution:
Pro Tools as it's output set as the Dolby Audio Bridge. The Production Suite Renderer has a core audio input of the Dolby Audio Bridge and output set as HDX or HD Native. With this configuration, is there a way to print re-renders back into Pro Tools in realtime?
As one idea I tried temporarily setting both the input and output of the renderer to the Audio Bridge to print back into Pro Tools (without live audio preview as the b-chain is connected the the HDX / Native card... but caused the renderer to freak out.
Is there an official way or plans to allow for re-renders back to Pro Tools when the renderer is set up w/ Audio Bridge as an input and HDX/HDN as the output and re-renders passing back to Pro Tools for re-render printing via Dolby Audio Bridge?
Currently we are just planning to record a master and do offline re-renders, but wanted to see if the above is/might be possible as well.
Hey Korey, This is unsupported.
"Currently we are just planning to record a master and do offline re-renders, but wanted to see if the above is/might be possible as well."
Seems like your best course of action.
You can print re-render and speaker outputs to Pro Tools using the Send/Return plug-ins. The Dolby Audio Bridge is a one way path and a feedback loop would be created if you try to use it as the input to Pro Tools. Hope this helps.
Is there a plan to support printing re-renders (and speaker outputs) via DAPS? Is it a limitation on the Pro Tools side?
Is there any option to use inputs with Dolby Audi Bridge audio engine? I saw post on the forum where one of Dolby guys explain how it is possible to create aggregate devices. By doing that, is it possible to have some inputs available from another device and get some external "sounds" into Pro Tools session? for example connecting microphones or instruments? Or just to have SFX programs like Soundminer pre-listen?
"You can print re-render and speaker outputs to Pro Tools using the Send/Return plug-ins"
Is this possible in combination with DAB or you need to switch the audio engine to HDX?
Thanks for posting a link to that doc, much appreciated!
