Spatial coding emulation is designed to be monitored only when monitoring a full mix. It is not intended to be used when working on individual elements of a mix, as the process requires all of the elements to be audible to work correctly. If spatial coding is used during editorial or mixing operations before it is applied to the entire mix, some panning may not behave as expected.
