Dolby AC-4 natively supports Dolby Atmos and can deliver the Dolby Atmos experience using audio conveyed in a variety of different formats depending on content genre and production. When producing live sports events there are typically a limited number of objects that are fairly static in nature. For example, PA or dialogue feeds and the scene ambience from the field. In this situation, it may be preferable to add height channels to the 5.1 mix rather than use a full object mix. This is in contrast to production of non-live theatrical or episodic content where a larger number of dynamic objects are typically used.
