The Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite v3.0 is now available from your Dolby reseller. This is a substantial upgrade from v1.72 New features include:
a new application UI that replaces the web UI and the Atmos Monitor application,
New supported configurations for Dolby Atmos Mastering Suite - in addition to the currently supported Dell 7910 workstation with RME MADI I/O there are two new supported configurations:
Mac Pro Rendering and Mastering Workstation with Dante I/O (qualified with Focusrite RedNet PCIeR card)
Dell 7910 Rendering and Mastering Workstation with Dante I/O (qualified with Focusrite RedNet PCIeR card)
Updated re-render output matrix allowing up to 20 live re-renders and unlimited offline re-renders
New “Renderer Remote” application for controlling the Mastering Suite workstation
New Binaural metadata for headphone mixes and Trim metadata for 7.1/5.1 down mix control
Direct export to BWF ADM
Support for mastering at 96kHz (for archive – note that encoding Dolby Atmos at 96k is not supported)
Support for Nuendo with the Dolby Atmos Production Suite via the Dolby Audio Bridge virtual Core Audio driver
The Renderer now runs as an application that is common to the Dolby Atmos Master Suite and the Dolby Atmos Production Suite. The difference between the two is which workstation the application is installed on, which product is licensed, and which audio and LTC interfaces are used. As such there are UI features that will be used for one or the other I.e. the audio settings.
Note that both the height and surround trims as well as the binaural render mode are features to address future capabilities in other Dolby tools. As these tools become available future announcements addresses their use cases will be made. Watch this space.
Existing customers should obtain the new installer and license from their reseller. The upgrade should be performed by the reseller.
